Lincolnwood, IL--- Managed Care Concepts, Inc. Registered Nurses achieve the status of Certified Health Patient Advocate and Certified Wellness Coach, offered by HealthCoaches of America.
The Certified Wellness Coach is a specially trained healthcare professional who helps individuals understand their health conditions and engages them in a meaningful discussion about their health management. The Wellness Coach takes a holistic approach, which looks at the whole person and their entire lifestyle situation. A Wellness Coach understands the participant’s motivational basis, background, barriers and shortcomings. Wellness Coaches do not practice medicine; they supplement, support and personalize medical care.
This training program provides knowledge and skills necessary to intervene, counsel and influence individuals to make the right health choices and practice a healthy lifestyle. The Coaches are trained on the Brief Intervention Coaching Protocol, employing the states of readiness and motivational interviewing to assess readiness to change and promote behavioral changes.
The Wellness Coaches identify risk factors using biometric screening data along with a health risk assessment tool.
