Karen L. Andalman, CWC

President and Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Andalman founded Managed Care Concepts in 1992 as a full service medical management company specializing in customizing programs and administering services for employee benefit plans. She has developed programs for clients in the areas of: Utilization Management (precertification, utilization review, discharge planning, medical necessity review services, and hospital bill auditing and negotiations) large case management, disease management, worker’s compensation case management, and corporate wellness programs (health risk assessments, biometric screenings, wellness coaching, and corporate wellness initiatives).

Ms. Andalman maintains the overall strategic direction of the entire business operation. She chairs the MCC, Inc. Quality Management Committee and serves as the MCC, Inc. Privacy Officer.

She previously was the Chief Executive Officer of Bene-Flex, Inc, a full-function TPA firm that offered the design, sale and administration of employee benefit plans for self-insured companies (closely-held corporations, school districts, and municipalities). Prior to that, she co-founded Andalman Insurance Management, Ltd an insurance agency located in Chicago, Illinois.

Andalman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois. She holds professional licenses as a State of Illinois Insurance Producer, which includes Life, Accident & Health, and Property & Casualty. She has also published several articles in Health and Insurance industry magazines, including Business Insurance and Risk and Insurance. She achieved the Certified Wellness Coach certification in 2006.

Mary Shenoo, RN, BSN, CCM,CWC

Executive Director

Ms. Shenoo joined Managed Care Concepts in 1993 as a Case Manager and Utilization Review Nurse Supervisor. In 1996, she was promoted to Executive Director. Her responsibilities now include: Oversight and Program Development for all departments. She negotiates contracts with providers, provides training, education and technical support to the staff, and is responsible for regulatory compliance and state licensure, as well as quality assurance.

She is the Senior Clinical Staff Person, serves as the liaison to the Medical Director, is the Organ Transplant Coordinator, and is a participating member of the MCC, Inc. Quality Management Committee.

Ms. Shenoo also held previous positions as a Legal Nurse Consultant in addition to working on the Medical/Surgical Unit at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago for many years.

Ms. Shenoo holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marquette University. She is a Certified Case Manager (CCM) (1996-present) as well as a Certified Wellness Coach (CWC) (2006-present). She holds the following additional certifications: Certificate in Utilization Review (1994), Certificate in Quality Management (1994) and Certificate in Quality Improvement (1994). She maintains active membership in the Case Management Society of America.
 

Mary Jo Coyne, RN, BSN,CCM, CWC

Director of Nurses

Ms. Coyne joined Managed Care Concepts in 1994 as a Case Manager. She was the Case Management Supervisor from 1997-2000. In 2000, she was promoted to the Director of Nurses.  In this role, she is responsible for supervision of all of the registered nurses in the Case Management, Disease Management and Wellness Coaching Departments. Her responsibilities include: managing the workflow of case managers, program development, case file audits, interviewing, hiring, training and ongoing evaluation of all nursing personnel.

She also serves as a liaison to Third Party Administrators and Clients, is a participating member of the MCC, Inc. Quality Management Committee, and coordinates all continuing education programs for the professional staff.

Prior to accepting the position at MCC, Inc., Ms. Coyne was employed for fourteen years at Lutheran General Hospital in Des Plaines, Il. in the Coronary Care/Intensive Care Unit, managing critically ill patients.

Her credentials include: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with honors, from the University of St. Francis, Diploma from the Graduate School of Nursing at Lutheran General Hospital, Certified Case Manager (CCM) (1996-present), Certified Wellness Coach (CWC) (2006-present), Basic Life Support for the Health Care Provider (CPR) (2010), and part of the City of Des Plaines Medical Reserve Corp (MRC) (2010).
